Three Wedding Chicks And A Boat Ride

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 62

The froth on the Lagoon, spiralled out of control as it projects itself violently into frantic waves from a clear green Atlantic Ocean. Sea creatures caressed the surface with their faces and watch out for visitors. They take risks and are dangerously curious, for the webbed nets linger around and wait to snatch and sell them for a price. hooks sway between uneven waves sway and lure unsuspecting prey of all Creed's to it's shinny point of no return. Only time will determine what's a trap and what will teach one lessons to help grow in life....

My Decadence With Frank

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 61

Crows caw in the early morning from the peak of swaying trees fighting to shake off the annoying creatures. Bending and bowing hard, trying Nott to snap and watching as the birds take flight briefly and perch back on the frustrated tree. It's claws sink dee into hard rugged barks as rubbery goodness and rich sap SLI out and crawl down a contoured tree trunk slowly....

Frankly Speaking Sin Is Delicious

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 60

Slice hard at the truth and fight hard to stay true. I listen to the blues and try to elevate my elevated mood. The deep Barry tone voice from the radio talks sings about how beautiful this moment is. And I hide my face behind the covers, away from everyone, away from the harsh reality. He moves inches closer and I smile and move millimeters nearer. Sin is delicious and his warm embrace makes it all worth it. But I realize I am naked and panicked....

Olympic Gold In Lying

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 59

The rumble in the air, crawled towards me. Nope, sneaked up to me and I jolt out of my skin in complete fear. I push my limbs beyond their limits and run faster than I've ever run in my life. I can still hear them catching up to me but it only gingers me to keep running faster, stronger and with more resilience. Because, this time I must reach the finish line. Baratu hugs her baby bump and Khadijatu craddles her baby girl with tubes attached to her nose. These women are fast and I panic and do the unthinkable. I dive, torso first into the finish line and to my amazement, I win...

Scattered Leaves Spiral All Around

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 58

A blanket of gray sky, sprinkled ice cold water all over. Not shockingly, brown dry dust jump up and off a hardened clay ground beside hardened interlocking roads. Splitting quickly, the clouds form clusters and round up into massive cotton balls as the drizzle seized. Then angry winds blew mercilessly into patterns just as Scattered Leaves Spiral All Around. The drama has just began....

Frankly This Is Annoyingly Questionable

"ADE'S JOURNAL 57"

The oscillating blades crashed into serrated walls of life's lessons sliced and caused such a spectacle I could not help but laugh. Brown skin clashing with milky white interior, soaked in therapeutic sweet natural spring water renewed my hope in love. But a hard knocked rugged shell protects my delicate insides as a lone being floats gently on a salty sea green ocean, waiting and anticipating....

Halfway Out Is Also Halfway In

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 56

The onslaught of clashing bee's buzzing and warning, stinging and cheering for their queen. Slain and ecstatic, pain yet gasping for that one last breath of joy... Can be overwhelming, yet, I bask in all the glory. Urge my many drones that their time will come when all they feel is complete joy and fulfillment. This is the price it takes to be the Queen of the hive.

A Not So Typical Yoruba Introduction Ceremony

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 55

Single, they jumped individually and bowed down to gravity. But the intensity of the beat made them jump higher, this time. The many pairs of eyes watched and waited for it to be the right consistency. Unsatisfied, they drowned it. As if that was not enough, they added boiling water to the dehydrated spectacle. And then hot oil for good measure. Na die them dey.

Friends Bond No Matter What

"ADE'S JOURNAL" 54

Just before the cryogenic freeze like stage, a gregarious caterpillar shares a lush green leaf with its peers. Somehow, it's habitat is destroyed but does it give up and die? No, it crawls long and hard And then, finds a solitary place and goes solo. It has absorbed all it can and has eaten enough, now plump and robust and ready to grow into the next phase. If you look closely, it has spun silk threads resembling spider webs. These high tensile strength threads hold it firmly in place. Morphing slowly, a change starts to occur and it's bright green colour starts to vanish and become dull...
