My Majestic Castle

"ADE'S JOURNAL", 104

The rains are here again, not really. This is just the clouds reacting to the intense sunlight, that had caused hear stroke all over most of Nigeria. It's much like the cool breeze, Much like life they come and go, intensify and then stop. The dark clouds heaves and cough briefly and just like a sneeze, an intense bright sun blazes mercilessly down on you. This weather is dangerous and sly, much like some people out there.
For a brief moment, you think they are reformed and all their deception is gone for good.  You don't miss the muddy shoes, the allergy brought about by a mixture of wet grass, dust and the cold. And you don't miss the intense sunlight and lies. To prove you wrong, they stop pretending and lie a bigger lie.
Now the sun comes in full force and drains out  all the energy and you are constantly thirsty..... Thirsty for the truth and a positive change... The rains are here again and fresh corn, fruit and cool weather comes with it. Then you can't wait for the rains. Don't let bad apples spoil your taste for fresh apples, just learn by experience to know the difference. So that, when the sun shines, it brings with it fresh new life with flowers blooming and beautifying the wonderful world we live in. We can go to the beach and relax or just enjoy the warm glow on the river banks with friends and loved ones.
Any time I say the words 'loved ones', out loud it lets me into my harsh reality.
My majestic castle is empty and my soul is on vacation but my body is working on full throttle, my deadline is here and I have no choice but to finish the task at hand. It has taken longer than I expected but it is done now and as I have a sigh of relief my phone rings. It's unlike Celine to call this early but she has good reason to. Which be me to the most consistent thing I've done since basic necessities dictated that I performed my basic duties... Bath, brush my teeth, eat, drink and relax, all without failing. I've written and designed, read and calculated, drawn and illustrated and then erased.
But this is unique and for every loyal reader of ADE'S JOURNAL, I say thank you. By next week my online journal will be three years old and there's so much more expected. I mean everything happening inspires me to write, just this week witches tried to cook a lady in Europe, the DOW plunged so far down it could have triggered a recession in America and in Asia South And North Korea are marching together in the Olympics and Africans are doing the unexpected... Empowering deported immigrants and giving them hope.
Everyday is really a brand new day and a new opportunity to break barriers and do something positive. I agree that there is negativity around us but can't we just focus on hope, love, joy and that thing that puts a smile on your face. The thundering sounds from the skies outside, jolt me back to reality. Back to now and the interest way things are turning up...

The Art Of Words never seem to escape me completely and for that a smile creeps up my placid face. It's that time of the year again, the reason I pour out my head and soul into a public online journal and hope words touch somebody's soul. I started this journal because of a heart ache, a deceiver and a thief in the night. A con artists that still cons unsuspecting souls and snatched away their pride, hope a d joy. But let me tell you something unique and special about you, you may have been tricked once or twice. Maybe even for decades, but the truth shall eventually set you free. And when it does you will laugh at the ridiculous lies you put up with all those moments with a fake friend. Normally, I do not even talk about this Frank of a thing but the latest front page news former laughing. His fiancee is accusing him of theft, of illegally withdrawing cash from her account and wants him apprehended if seen. He actually called a radio station to try to vindicate himself. That's how I heard, it was Celine that called me and asked me to listen to him. I couldn't be bothered until Ashabi showed up with this magazine. She claimed it had sold out and #Frankarrest is trending. I'm just surprised it took this long to get this much attention.
Ashabi is here because Chuks sister has beat up her son's girlfriend and she has filed a lawsuit against her. Chuks actually wanted a Nigerian Valentine's Day but Ashabi wants to go to the Maldives. I stare at the video of the exclusive location and smile. Ashabi grabs my white jumpsuit and I freaked out.
I don't have anything else to wear to this exclusive beach party with Alan. Yes, Alan is still around, stalling for my sake. Waiting for me to come out of my shell.
I think I am afraid to be alone this weekend, I've cried all week and the migraine in my head is getting worse. The outing will be an excuse to not think of my loss or to just continue to wish it all away. Why can't we bring back the dead?
Why do horrible men live long and the good ones don't last. Why why why...
Ashabi grabs my hands and I stop squeezing my sharp nails into my palm.
'Ade, go and get ready. Go out with Alan and when you come back... I'll update you with my family drama'
'Ashabi, thanks', I grab my outfit and head into the room.
'You are okay on your own?'
I asked through my open door.
'Ade abeg, let me rest. Chuks is like an annoying child when he isn't working. He won't let me sleep'

I showered and stepped out to Ashabi snoring very loud, she must be exhausted.
I spot Alan walking towards my door and to stop him from ringing the brand waking Ashabi up. I opened my door.
'You look grand'
I stared at him and was a little impressed.
'Thanks and you want to catch fresh fish today'
'No oh, today is about us and the Lagos Beach'
'Shall we...'
'What about Ashabi'
'I left my keys, she is fine'

I can't believe I am going out, is it too soon or am I just paranoid.
I have a feeling, today will have plenty drama. Let's see how it goes....
